During yesterday's Fox Hill Earth Day and Stewardship Program, students had an opportunity to visit the Learning Commons and learn about ways to "make the planet a better and healthier place for all." To learn more about the day, please visit the Learn Commons' blog.

Here are some Room 20 community members participating in the program, including caring for some Madagascar hissing cockroaches!

Upcoming Science Field Trip

Dear Parents,

On May 11, Fox Hill 4th graders will be going on a field trip as part of our "Plant and Animal Structures and Functions" science unit. We will be visiting Land's Sake, in Weston. Land's Sake is a not-for-profit organization "supporting environmental education programs, food donation programs, and land management." For additional information, please see the Field Trip Flyer. The flyer, which includes the field trip permission form, will be going home with students today. At your convenience, please complete and sign the field trip permission form and return it to school with your child after spring vacation.

Last Night's Fox Hill Ice Cream Social

A wonderful time was had by all who attended last night's Fox Hill PTO Ice Cream Social and Reptile Show! From kids to parents to "ice cream scoopers," everyone enjoyed the evening's festivities in a jam-packed Fox Hill cafeteria. Special thanks to Fox Hill PTO members who organized this annual event.

A number of Fox Hill staff shared their ice cream scooping abilities and have hereby been dubbed, now and forever, "super scoopers!" Here they are in action, er, mugging for the camera.
(L to R) Mrs. Walsh, Mrs. Binall, Mrs. Tigges

(L to R) Mrs. Johnson, Ms. Stone, Ms. Christie, Mr. Daley
Also seen in the crowd were Mr. and Mrs. Lisano. One of Room 20's own community members, Pieris F., (photographed by classmate Elise K.) was an active participant in the Reptile Show. (I hope Pieris ate her ice cream BEFORE she handled her new-found friend!)

2017-2018 Class Placement

Hi Parents,

Yesterday, I sent home a letter from Mrs. Johnson explaining the process that will be used to place students in 5th grade classrooms next year. This "complex, thoughtful, and cooperative process involves a variety of components and perspectives, including Mrs. Johnson, teachers, guidance, reading and special education staff, and you." Mrs. Johnson provides parents an opportunity to share your perspective regarding your child's academic, social, and emotional strengths and needs. You can do this by completing the Student Information Form that accompanied the letter I sent home from Mrs. Johnson.

I hope you take advantage of this opportunity to help make your child's 5th grade experience at Fox Hill a most rewarding, successful, and fun experience for him or her.

Mrs. Johnson has asked that Student Information Forms be returned to Fox Hill by Thursday, April 13.

If you have any questions, please call Mrs. Johnson directly at 781.270.1791.

March Students of the Month

The Room 20 Students of the Month for March are Pieris F. and Kaleb S. Pieris and Kaleb demonstrated a very strong work ethic throughout the month. They worked exceptionally hard in every subject area, while adhering to the Fox Hill and Room 20 values of being responsible, respectful, safe, and kind. I am particularly proud of Pieris' and Kaleb's perseverance in completing their Mexico and Canada research projects. As caring 4th graders, both Pieris and Kaleb are loyal classmates to their peers and serve as good role models to all Fox Hill students. Congratulations, Pieris and Kaleb, for this well-deserved recognition.
